INTERN OPPORTUNITIES

After having passed at least one Italian language course, students can decide to apply for our Work Experience and Internship Program in an Italian company to learn more about European regulations or to work directly in their field of expertise. Even though, by Italian law, internships are unpaid, they are all insured and, often companies choose to pay an “expenses refund”. This opportunity is available throughout the year.
Each student is assigned to an Internship advisor who will provide counselling, support and supervision throughout the program. The program is suitable for international students who have completed their Secondary School or University Education.

·        Level of Italian Required: good intermediate level required

·        Qualifications: High School diploma or University degree. Minimum Age : 18

Italian Preparatory Course
Our school is authorized by the Italian Ministry of Education to teach Italian Language and Culture to foreign students.
Our Intensive Italian Courses prepare students to meet the required linguistic requirements in order to participate in the Internship Program in Italy.

·        Lessons: 20 hours per week (50 minute lessons), course materials.

·        Duration: Minimum 4 weeks

·        Period: Throughout the year

·        Levels: There are 6 available levels from beginners to advanced. To join the Internship program, language level 4 is required

·        Class size: maximum 12 students

·        School social program

·        Location: Florence, Elba Island and other Italian cities.

Internship Experience

Students who have successfully completed the Italian preparatory course are eligible for an unpaid Internship Experience in an Italian company. Placements are based on students’ qualifications and work experience.

·        Duration: from 2 to 6 months

·        Location: Florence or Elba Island or other Italian cities according to the field of interest.

·        Period: throughout the year

        ·        Fields: 

·        Fashion

o       Tourism: hotels, travel agencies, guesthouses

o       Restaurants and pizzerias

       Import - Export trade

o       Leather industry

o       Arts & Crafts: ceramic, terracotta, sculpture

o       Restoration: workshops for wood, painting and silver.

o       Design and photography studios

o       Professional offices: architects, lawyers

Services Upon Arrival                        

§        Orientation on the Program and the town

§        Meeting with the internship coordinator to discuss details of work experience

§        Selection of the suitable company according to the student’s area of interests, experience and availability

§   Assistance for government permit procedures

§        Language placement test

During Language Preparatory Course         

Regular progress assessment during the Italian language course

·        Assessment and evaluation of learning objectives

·        Daily activities organized by the school (excursions, guided visits, films, etc.)

·        Introduction of the students to the selected company

·        Monitoring and defining the agreement between the student and the company

During the Internship Program

·       Insurance to cover workplace accidents for the duration of the program (INAIL - National Insurance Institute for Industrial Accidents)

·       Entrusting the student to a tutor within the       company

·       Regular monitoring and evaluation of work experience

·       Certificate attesting participation in the Internship Program

B)OPTION 2  

COST:   3 MONTHS : $ 3.900
             6 MONTHS :$ 6.500

It includes:

   a.  Three or six months of intensive Italian language training (80 hours per month).

b.     All necessary course material
Internship placement opportunity in a Florentine or Italian organization
Welcome orientation upon arrival
English speaking representative and intern support services
Various intern services and learning support services
Free internet service during normal business hours
Housing assistance
Worker’s compensation insurance
Professional language certification

 

Not Included:
Housing and transportation

Personal expenses and meals
Visa expenses

Airport pick-up or drop-off (available on request)

C) OPTION 3  

Internship Only (see service Internship Program)

This option is available for students who already speak Italian at least at an advanced level and would prefer to start internship without the Italian language course segment.
1 month Internship: $ 1300

2 month Internship: $ 1400
3 month Internship: $ 1600

 

Enrolment Fee $ 100
The enrolment fee covers the learning materials used in the courses, administrative fees, assistance at school, Internet connection and the use of computers at school
(WI-FI ZONE), an insurance policy that covers all damages or personal injuries that occur on the school premises, all tests and language exams and the certificate at the end of the course. The Internship program fee also includes the monitoring of the internship,  internship compensation insurance and the certificate of attendance.

Accommodation: please indicate clearly the choice of accommodation. We will send the accommodation description and address reserved for the student.
Accommodation available one day prior to starting date, and up to the day after finishing date.

Enrolment Fee 70 €
The enrolment fee covers housing assistance.

Special 4-Week Combined Summer Program: if you want you can also stay 2 weeks in Florence and 2 weeks in the Elba Island.
